An Introduction

Hi there,

This site is dedicated to the display of my scholastic studio work. In it you will find drawings and models I have assembled during my four years spent at the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design. I still attend and am currently working on my Bachelors of Architecture.

When I first set out to become an architect I had no idea what type of journey I had ahead of me. At only three years in that is still largely the truth. What I did know, and still hold on to, is a passion for the making of things. I have always loved making things. In elementary school that meant I spent time doodling, writing and playing with LEGO. In middle school that interest in art continued and found a new outlet in wood shop. In high school that love for the shop blossomed into preoccupations in both the digital and material methods of fabrication. Now, that same imaginative itch I’ve been scratching for most of my life, has found an expression in architecture.

I also love storytelling. There are few things more satisfying to me in life than a beautiful story, brilliantly told. Movies, novels, comic books, musicals and television. You can always count me in. As a young boy this just meant I loved watching the Batman and Spiderman movies. Now my fascination extends into the mechanics of screenwriting and the compositions of cinematography. As my education in design develops and increases I find the level of detail I observe in storytelling follows close behind.

And so that is, if I were to distill it as I am here, what I want to spend my life in pursuit of. The making of great things and the telling of captivating stories. I find architecture and design permits me the perfect opportunity to exercise both of those passions. In the day to day, I am able to tinker away at solving problems and making designs which help people. In the long term, I am able to dream of places and projects that may yet be.

I truly hope you enjoy these works as much as I have.
